Innovation and automation are focal points at RTR. One recent innovation is the development of our own suite of cloud-based mobile apps. RTR has designed and implemented apps for everything from environmental inspections to project status reporting, constructability reporting, sagging and even drone flight logging. Senior linemen no longer need to take photographs and field notes separately and can now collect information easily in one app on a tablet which can then be downloaded immediately in our offices with no need to email, upload or compile information. Our apps are created in-house in a collaborative effort between our designers and our seasoned pros doing the field collection. Our methods are such that we can edit our data collection software in real-time should our field personnel request an upgrade or change. We make the changes in the office, they refresh the app and continue collecting.

Our apps also automate field data collection and website linking to provide real-time project status via automated webpages to client project managers (see below). Whether we are live-sagging a power line or staking out a gas line, project managers can instantly view our surveyors progress (including photographs of areas of concern) by simply visiting a webpage which is kept current dynamically through our cloud-based data collection app. Data collected with our apps is then downloaded to spreadsheets that have been pre-linked to report templates that automate everything from expenses to final field cut sheets and invoicing. Reports that take others hours take us mere minutes.
