Working Smarter
RTR utilizes state of the art software from Autodesk, Faro and Microsoft to automate the creation of survey drawings and designs, 3d laser scans and outage sequence drawings.
RTR surveying drawings are processed extremely efficiently using Autodesk Civil3d in the dynamic manner it is intended to be used. We’ve created a template based, automated process which combines the import of field point codes created to work with pre-set description keys, point groups and styles to enable us to create existing ground contours minutes after importing raw field data. Our CAD department established standards that utilize the latest enhancements in the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction suite.
RTR outage drawings are created using proprietary Excel spreadsheet templates designed to extract and manipulate data created by our outage engineers. That data is dynamically linked to drawings created by our outage group. The automated system we’ve developed enables changes to be made instantaneously and effortlessly (including automated Gantt charts) and allows engineers to focus on engineering rather than drafting when inevitable changes are necessary.
RTR 3d models are created using Faro laser scanners to build detailed as-built drawings of existing structures as well as to collect ground topography of existing sub-stations. Utilizing Autodesk Recap Pro to edit and Faro Pointsense Plant to model collected point clouds we create accurate existing ground information which, when compared to design grades we create using Civil3D, allow us to create accurate cut/fill reports of any location or to create 3d models of any site or structure.
Software changes and improves at a fast pace, at RTR we believe in working smarter by putting the most current versions of state of the art software in the hands of experienced, capable staff (which includes a former Autodesk developer with 30 years of experience in software development, automation and customization). We approach problem solving with teamwork, ingenuity, creativity and a focus on quality, efficiency and accuracy.
